artist bio

I am a self-taught artist and started playing with collage and cut-out paper art when I couldn't find a daily calendar I liked one winter. At the same time, I was beginning to write a Tarot guidebook after becoming a student of Tarot more seriously during the pandemic. My primary creative expression for most of my adult life was poetry, so writing felt much more accessible and familiar than image based art. I dreamt of creating my own Tarot deck but it felt out of reach. One day I had the idea to use a hole punch and glue those paper cutouts onto shapes to create Tarot cards, and the rest is history.

Each piece of art generally takes me one to two days to complete, although I spend a significant amount of time thinking and exploring internally before anything concrete starts being created. I make my art in my home, surrounded by the mountains of Tucson, Arizona. Growing up in a rural area of the Pacific Northwest, I spent as much time as possible outside exploring as a child and Oregon’s landscape was my first love. My art is usually nature-based and I look to Earth's creations and wisdom for guidance.

I create art around my day job as a therapist in private practice. My experience as an intuitive healer is deeply influential in my work as an artist. My art is an entry into integration and self-love, always.
